EMU Submersible pumps' troubleshooting guide

One,Electrical parts

 Submersible pump of the most common fault is not running or starting.

As described below is one of the most common reason for not starting or running:

• Power supply problems

•Pump cable

•Pump starting device and protection

•Pump stator (electrical part) of the stator

 

Two,The power supply

 •Check the power supply the voltage is correct, effective and check the pump's three phase conductor

•Check whether the input power frequency (Hz) accurately and efficiently

•Check the phase sequence of input power supply, to ensure that the correct steering

Note: with according to the water pump of pump phase sequence protection, when the phase  

         sequence discrepancy or abnormal voltage, the pump will not be able to start

 

Three, starter and protector

 In accordance with the EMU pump can be controlled through internal or external to the starter

Within the pump connection interior department is equipped with the controller

The use of external controller

Visual all parts and check whether there are burn marks, including capacitance (single phase), the     main circuit breaker, ac contactor, overload, etc

Check whether overload (+ 5%  FLC) right and protect action or not

Check whether the contactor function normally

 

Four,Cable

 Three-phase pump through phase sequence adjustment to:

•If the cable is equipped with reverse phase, will switch to another location

•If there is no phase inversion, adjust any adjacent two phase cable is one of the most easy to damage the parts submersible pump

•Any damage on the cable, can lead to water entering the pump of the junction box

•To overhaul the whole cable, see if there is a visible damage

•Remove the cable, check the cable and terminal block

•Check the cable and insulation to the ground

 

Five,The stator

 Check the stator insulation:

• With 1 kV megger insulation of stator winding and to measure the insulation of the relatively, requires no less than 1 megohm

Check whether the stator's and white balance:

•Using a multimeter ohm documents or ohmmeter to motor winding resistance measurement

•Three difference should not exceed 5%

•Amultimeter is used to measure the thermal switch is closed

Note: be sure to disconnect between each stator winding connection when measuring resistance      refer to the operation manual along with the pump.

 

Six,Mechanical failure

 Long time to deal with mud and debris is a guide to the common cause of the decrease of submersible pump

Water pump performance anomalies or installation problem is mainly due to the following reasons:

• Flow components blockage or wear

• Mechanical seal/bearing

• Installation is not correct

Part 1, The flow congestion

Impeller block:

•Remove the filter cover and examine blocked impeller

• If the pump is blocked should clean up warehouse, in case of jam again

Part 2, Flow components damaged

Impeller damage/wear parts:

•Rremove the side parts and wear parts

•Adjust the impeller and wear resistance of the gap between plate or replace new parts

Part 3,The flow test

The performance test:

•The performance test of the part flow

•Best equipped with test measuring tool and operating water tank

•Pump should be able to meet the requirements of performance curve, deviation of + - 5%

•In accordance with the hammer pump suggest completely underwater operation test, the best  

       efficiency point test time not less than 20 minutes

Part4, Bearing and seal

Seal:

• Remove the screw hole and pour out the oil inside the pump, containing a small amount of water in oil or water

•To the oil pressure to 100 kpa, indoor use pressure gauge, pressure should be able to keep for 15 minutes, to show good seal

Bearing:

•Demolition of stator observation hole screws and check if the excess water or oil

•Remove the impeller and check the shaft, shaft should be able to rotate freely

 

Seven, Installation problems

 Small water pump displacement:

•TDH, exports to a higher value (lift)

• Export pipe/tube is too small

•Soft water or pipe limited (blockage or discount)

In the process of running suddenly stop:

•Water temperature is too high

• Density or viscosity is too big

•Cable is too long, or inadequate voltage voltage is too low

 

Eight, can maintenance evaluation

 Pump parts restructuring, to understand the performance of the pump components and their reusable is crucial

To correctly evaluate the parts, to specification for pump repair, to guarantee maintenance of the pump can run normally for a long  time

Reshipment before must give to replace the following parts

• O-rings

• Bearing

•Mechanical seal

•Bolt or nut of the impeller

•Locking rings or ring
